Atlantic Barn and Timber, a member of the green building council, offering unique and beautiful hand crafted timber frame design and production, opens its door in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Wilmington, NC August 25, 2009 — Atlantic Barn and Timber is thrilled to announce their office and shop openings in Wilmington, North Carolina. The family-owned company, founded in Mount Snow Valley of Vermont, has been providing beautiful timber-frame structures, which are shipped and erected all of the country and overseas, for over 20 years. They have made the decision to expand to North Carolina due to an increase in commercial work and North Carolina’s better geographical location with access to larger facilities. Atlantic Barn and Timber is proud to be bringing job opportunities to Wilmington, and is planning to initially employ a workforce of 18 with plans to continue expanding.
Atlantic Barn and Timber specializes in timber frame projects of any scale. They are a national supplier of exposed timber frames, stressed skin panels and structural insulated panels to residential and commercial builders. They also specialize in beautiful, handcrafted outdoor living spaces, such as pergolas, gazebos, awnings, playhouses, and even doghouses. Atlantic Barn and Timber takes pride in being different from a typical framing company. All of their projects are crafted with the long time tradition of timber framing. Every piece of wood is hand cut and their joinery is mortise and tenon secured with oak pegs. From timber frame design, production, assembly and erection, Atlantic Barn and Timber is a one stop shop.
Atlantic Barn and Timber is involved in many exciting projects around the world. One of their large commercial projects, Hope Lake, was just featured in American Executive magazine. They have also partnered with Matterhorn nursery, a nursery in Spring Valley, New York to provide timber frame structures such as dog houses and playhouses with “live” green roofs. They are currently erecting timber frame homes in Ontario, Canada and in Rhode Island, designing and building timber frame stairs in a New York City penthouse, and cutting and shipping fireplace mantels all around the country. They are proud to be members of the green building council, and are participants in LEAD certified projects.
Being part of Wilmington’s economic growth and success is a priority to Atlantic Barn and Timber.
